Thirty years after a Hendrick Motorsports car went to Victory Lane in the inaugural Brickyard 400, Kyle Larson scored a dramatic victory in the 30th edition of the
crown jewel event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Larson, the driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, played a masterful fuel strategy and stayed in front of the field through the final seven laps,
including two Overtime restarts. As other contenders fell short of fuel in the closing circuits and others crashed behind him, Larson had just enough speed and fuel to
cross the yard of bricks at the start-finish line first. The win came 30 years after Jeff Gordon scored the inaugural Brickyard 400 victory for the Hendrick organization, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024
